Great Licks Ice Cream in Matlacha

Creamy and rich, not much variety, kids loved it.

Excellent ice cream with equally great prices! The employees are very nice and proactively offered samples which is always welcome in my book. The kid sized cup is 2.50 and holds one generous scoop while the small is 4.00 for 2 scoops (2 flavors if you wish). If I’m ever in Matlacha again, I would 100% return for ice cream. A must try, especially the Key Lime Pie flavor!

Great Licks is apparently voted Best on the Island for many years in a row, which is kind of funny as they are the only ice cream shop on the island. However, they are actually really good! Many good choices. I had the Black Raspberry Chip. Excellent choice!

They still got it going on. I don't care what anyone says. Quality of the ice cream is there. 👌🏽Not a big art guy but the art is there. I think they could use a remodel at this point. New flooring moden flooring and other renovations. But as an ice cream shop goes. I go out of my way just to get it there.

Not from around those parts, but it is a must stop ice cream store. Also has some funky jams for sale.

Great icecream but a little pricey.

My group ate plentiful one scoop waffle cones. I had butter pecan. Others ate salty caramel, coconut, and Dutch chocolate. All were yummy!! The hardest thing was eating the ice cream before it melted on this day in the upper 80s. Maybe it would be better to get it in a dish.

My suggestion is to forego the sorbets when you visit...Key Lime flavor is hard as ice cubes, Mango and Red Raspberry are watery and tasteless...you are better off with any other regular flavors! Maybe they are better! The owner should have the girls who work there try their products... they had no clue what it tastes like and how the consistency should be not do they care. Best ice cream shop in Pine Island/Matlache? Best because only one... you'll be the judge!

It's the only ice cream place around here. The ice cream is homemade and pretty good. But here's the experience. Judge for yourself. Four of us cone to have ice cream and maybe bring some home. One of us is diabetic and needed to take his pills. Asking for a small cup of water, the woman replied, " well, we have bottled water over there, you can just by one".If she hadn't said it with the attitude, it would have been ok. So three had ice cream while one walked to the fudge shop down the road where the employee offered a Free Bottle of water! This young lady did just hurt their business for us. We live right here, and this will limit our visits.

Never had such water icicy tasteless sorbet. The Key lime sorbet was more like an icicle. The raspberry sorbet was icy and tasteless. The mango sorbet has never seen a real Mango and was just water and some artificial flavoring and tasteless, but imagine here you are in the middle of mango country and it is mango season. But the best is yet when my wife told the 2 teenagers behind the counter that the sorbet is too icy and tasteless she put the sorbet that was already in the customers hands back into the freezer into the sorbet bucket.... talking about food safety....

Nice little shop. Will take kids again. Prices are affordable

Good ice cream with free parking outside. Good starting point for a stroll in Matlacha. There is also a charming souvenir shop adjacent to the ice cream shop with seating where you can enjoy your ice cream.

Good ice cream, natural, with lots of choices of flavors. Friendly staff, encouraging to taste different ones before making final decision. Their Black Raspberry Chocolate is a winner.

Lots of fun ice cream flavors. I had a scoop of each of the cookies and cream and raspberry chip. My husband had the butter pecan. All were exceptional. Super friendly staff and out-of-this-world ice cream! There is a sweet kitty that hangs out in the shop attached. Love it!

Great ice cream, friendly service

This place is by far the worst Ice Cream place I have ever visited. Two young ladies were working and had the worst attitudes ever. Tried to start small talk with them, but they gave my associates and I dirty looks. They expressed zero emotion and created the most awkward negative vibe. Milk shake was absolutely terrible 0/10. It was as if someone added ice to milk. No whip cream, very runny, and was a bad experience. Texture ,taste, and presentation was absolutely horrid. Overall the entire experience ruined my night and was a terrible way to start the weekend. Would not recommend.

Had dinner at Blue's and ice cream from great licks was a good ending. Had my favorite Heath bar ice cream and it was delish.
